Ingredients for Vegan Dog Biscuits

I am not exaggerating when I say this veggie dog biscuits recipe is very simple to make and that is mainly because of how simple and minimal ingredients it requires.

  • Flour: Any type of flour will work. I prefer whole wheat because of the added fiber and nutrients in wheat, but almond, coconut, oat, or chickpea flour could also be used.
  • Bananas: Ripe bananas work best for these biscuits. This is because as a banana ripens, it releases more sugar and therefore makes things sweeter. Plus, they are easier to mash!
  • Peanut Butter: Any peanut butterwithoutxylitol will work. The simpler ingredients the better for delicious peanut butter dog biscuits!

Flavor Flav! Want to add more flavor to these treats to make them even more enticing to your pup? Try adding some fish oil to the batter for joint health and a delicious, dog-friendly flavor.

How to Make Vegan Dog Treats

These easy vegan treats only take four steps and come together in minutes!

Step 1: Prep
Preheat the oven to 300°F (148°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix
In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients until the mixture forms a cohesive dough (add a splash of water if needed to help the dough form). I like to knead the dough for a few minutes, which helps to develop the gluten proteins (more gluten = chewier texture, which dogs love!)

Step 3: Shape
Roll dough out to be about ¼ inch thick. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut dough, transferring each bone onto your prepared parchment-lined baking sheet. Continue until all dough is used. (Alternatively, roll the dough right out onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, cut into shapes, and peel the remaining dough away from the cutouts!)
