Vegetable Dog Biscuits

Treat your furry friend to this incredibly tasty, easy to make vegetable dog biscuits that contain six ingredients, and can be made into any shape you wish.

In this recipe, I used a mixture of sweet potato, apple, carrot and pumpkin, though there are many other options you can use as well such as mashed banana, peanut butter, honey or even broth.

Just remember, to consult your veterinarian before feeding your dog any type of homemade dog treats or food as you can’t be sure what they could be allergic too. Some dogs can be allergic to peanut butter or even gluten that is found in some flours. Whole wheat flour can have more nutrients in it which is great, though you could use an alternative flour like coconut flour. If your dog is allergic to flour or wheat, you could use rice flour or coconut flour, though these might change the consistency of the dough and you may need to increase the wet ingredients slightly.

Some peanut butters include xylitol which they use to lower the sugar content. DO NOT USE these peanut butter in your dog treats as xylitol is toxic to dogs. Use a natural peanut butter – making sure to check the ingredients first.

How long will Homemade Dog Treats keep?

When kept in an airtight container and stored in the fridge, they can stay good for around 2 months, though if you freeze, they can keep for up to 8 months.
