The week of January 7, 2024 was a very strange, telling, and bewildering week in Ufology.
On the 12th, there was a closed-door Congressional hearing with Intelligence Inspector General Thomas Monheim with members of The House Oversight & Advisory Committee. Members exiting the 90-minute hearing seemed to be underwhelmed and felt they we no closer to the Pentagon’s secrecy veil being lifted than before concerning what UAP may be and why they are here.
During the very same week, we get a report of intelligence whistleblower David Grusch being flown in to a private New York Penthouse party hosted by a cryptocurrency expert where Grusch suggests we are dealing with time traveling, dimension penetrating craft. OK!
Oddly enough, there was one more interesting story that hit the news that week also on the 11th. The Jellyfish UAP video released by filmmaker Jeremy Corbell. What impeccable timing with the other two news drops.
The alleged 17-minute (or possible 30 minute) video of a Jellyfish UFO is seen over a joint American-Iraqi air force allegedly near a base near Lake Hibernia, according to reports, sometime during October 2018 (or possibly 2017) has only been released to the public in different snippets. There are a myriad issues concerning the Jellyfish and the video.
MUFON’s six-man Photo Analysis Team (PAT) took a crack at analysis and there was absolutely zero consensus as to what the Jellyfish UAP is or isn’t except it was most likely NOT alien!
First, the world awaits the entire video. The snippets were released with the caption “raw video” in a January 11, 2024 USA Today article directly quoting filmmaker Jeremy Corbell. It is not raw!!! It is anything but!!! This is misleading to the American and world public. There is no electronic signature for the digital video that photo analysts can review for authenticity. This electronic information embedded in a video is called the EXIF Data and can give a specific date, time, and geographic latitude and longitude to within one foot of where the video was shot. Since these items are stripped from the public Jellyfish snippets, how can we know if the location is legitimate. The videos are NOT raw. This is a red flag! The media is not being truthful.
What is apparent is that these snippets are not the actual video allegedly filmed by the American military but are video screen grabs from a television showing the actual video. That is not raw data and the reason why is essential EXIF data is missing. What the public has been given to date is a “bootleg” of a video.
Is it only one camera taking this 17-minute or 30-minute video? Without EXIF data, who knows? We hunger for more.
MUFON’s PAT has offered the possibility that while it seems it may be multiple cameras and multiple angles, a tethered military aerostat (blimp)hovering over the base might change views from close-up to long view intimating two cameras but in fact it is only one. One marine on intelligence duty at the base named Michael Cincoski has stated the footage was taken by a tethered aerostat (blimp). One question therefore would be how did the tethered blimp maintain the object for so long at seemingly impossible forward angles?
Second, it was originally reported that this was a trans-medium object capable of submerging into and exiting out of water. This does not appear to be accurate either. Initial news reports stated the video was 17 minutes in length total. Mr. Corbell clarified that it is 30 minutes in length and that the object disappeared underwater for 17 minutes suggesting trans-medium capability. When it re-emerges, it shoots off at incredible speed. This, of course, would be the money shot and that portion of the video has yet to be seen. So, is it a 17-minute video or a 30-minute video? How could a tethered balloon camera track something so close for so long and over such a vast distance? Staying ahead of it for so long by the way.
Also, modern media understands the short attention span of a technologically distracted public. Facts are not necessarily needed if the headline grabs! How did Corbell get the video? Who are the military personnel at this particular base that called this “The Ghost?” Names please. Or, do we need to wait for the Netflix Documentary? That alone should raise concerns to the researchers in the UAP/UFO field attempting to utilize the scientific method concerning this potentially important video.
Who is the arbiter of what the public sees? AARO? NASA? DOD? Hollywood? Private Corporations?
Or free, transparent, grassroots UFO Organizations that owe allegiance to no one?
Third, the object was claimed to be invisible when shot on a thermographiccamera attached to the alleged tethered aerostat used to detect threats to the base. However, in one snippet released, it appears two individuals on the ground seem to notice it above them. This will never be substantiated unless the two individuals are identified and that is doubtful. It is, however, a kink in the armor of the original story if the alleged object was visible.
Fourth, if it was a tethered balloon, how did the tether allow the blimp to keep ahead and apace of the jellyfish for an extended period of time in one snippet. Was more than one camera involved since the object was tracked for 17 minutes? Could a tethered camera stay ahead of an object for 17 minutes? Unlikely.
The surveillance systems most likely being used on the tethered aerostat surveillance balloon are the MX series of cameras, MX-10 or MX-20. The on-screen monitor data appears to match very close to the Jellyfish monitor screen and what little data is seen around the edges. Based on videos reviewed, depending on the possible altitude and distance from the military base, it is possible this video is from a tethered aerostat.
If we assume, based on Photo Analysis Team measurements, the object was traveling at about 25 mph if it was indeed an actual object, 17 minutes at 20-25 mph would cover 5.6 miles of straight-line flight. Could this be a drone filming a drone and not a tethered blimp camera at all?
Fifth, Corbell states the DOD classified the object as a UAP. However, Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough stated in apparent contradiction to Corbell that the DOD, “do not comment on the authenticity of alleged DOD material that may have been leaked.” BTW, who leaked it?
Sixth, unlike the 2004 Tic Tac video taken by an F-18 flown by Navy pilot David Fravor, there appears to be no identifying information on the video screen itself in one snippet which usually conveys speed, direction, and altitude in a military camera. We cannot even get a good speed on the object based on the missing video metrics. One MUFON Photo Analyst suggested the object was moving at approximately 25 miles per hour. This lends support to the idea we are seeing purloined video screen grabs to someone’s phone. Worse yet, these stolen and leaked videos seem additionally edited to remove essential metrics from the public. Why? Someone leaked it but then some party hides essential identifying metrics by cropping out data? It doesn’t compute. Are the leakers violating the law?
Seventh, after allegedly re-emerging from underwater at 17 minutes, the object accelerates away at an incredible speed. Can we see that video segment, please? The possessor of the original video’s word is not good enough. We must wait for the Hollywood production, it seems. Until then, simple humans should just take the filmmaker’s word for it.
Eighth, a January 11, 2024 USA Today article quotes the filmmaker as saying it was seen flying over the Persian Gulf.
However, another report says the object was near Like Hibernia. This quote was from Marine Cinkoski who was not even at the base in 2017 but claimed to see the purloined screen grab video from other service members upon his arrival in 2018.
First, there is no Lake Hibernia in Iraq. There is a Lake Habbaniyah and an RAF base near there. The issue is that Lake Habbaniyah is about 500 miles inland from the Persian Gulf. Anybody got a map here? Anybody got a Geography background? Something is seriously wrong. Cinkoski is saying the base where the Jellyfish UAP was filmed was over Lake Habbaniyah. Filmmaker Corbell is saying it was over the Persian Gulf hundreds of miles to the southeast. Which is it? Red flag!
Ninth, did the object really have the ability to change color suggesting drastic fluctuations in temperature on the thermal camera? One photo analyst suggested that the background atmosphere may have contributed to the object changing colors from black to white and back and that the object was not changing temperatures at all especially if the object t was bird poop!
If we are dealing with an object that can drastically change temperature for covert military reasons, remember that our military now has the ability to mimic octopi’s camouflage. Without getting into it seriously, it appears the U.S. Military has already extensively experimented with cuttlefish and their means of drastically and immediately altering their appearance.
One headline from ZDNET.COM posits that “The US Army has pondered the development of camouflage that mimics how cephalopods rapidly change their color and patterning. They call it ‘signature management’.
If it is suggested in the media, that we have this ability already, I assure you we do already, most likely for years. But is it applicable here or just noise?
The object looks like a jellyfish with dangling tentacles. However, the tentacles do not seem to sway suggesting they are stiff. There seem to be two main vertical poles on the bottom of the object. Several theories have been put forth including human legs.
So, let us look at the most likely scenarios as to what this object is if it is not alien!
First, could it be a balloon or balloon group. Very possibly, however, as noted above, the object seems rather rigid. Balloons seem to sway especially when of an unconventional appearance with dangling appendages. It was suggested that, since Iraq is a Muslim country, perhaps it was a group of Eid holiday balloons. Eid, however, is in April. The only Islamic holiday near October 2018 is the Baptism of Mohammad which occurred on November 27 in 2018. No match! It is most likely not a clump of holiday balloons.
Second, is it a camera artifact like bird poop on the camera lens? It appears to be a fixed object that maintains the same position, altitude, and distance with reference to the camera with an unchanging pattern. The camera is actually changing viewing positions looking forward or back, up, or down.
It seems as if whoever is operating this surveillance drone camera is not noticing this anomaly or simply ignoring it as they conduct normal duties. Why not fly closer to the unknown anomaly for a better view?
Third, it was suggested that perhaps it was a human jetting around with a jetpack. Jetpacks have been a reality since the 1960s. The main problem is that there seems to be no exhaust. While jet pack exhaust is invisible in normal light it should be evident as a heat stream downward with a thermal camera. However, there is no heat signature of exhaust in any clip.
A search for “human drone” shows it exists! A video still EXISTS from a YouTube video filmed at the Heli Meeting in Wolfhagen (Graner Berg) Germany August 2019.A second video still from YouTube specifically shows the flight characteristics of a light weight human shaped drone.
What about all the spaghetti or seaweed junk covering the human shaped drone/entity. Two words: Ghillie suit.
The Ghillie suit originated a century ago. It is a Scottish word for lad or servant” where the individual would, during a hunt, hide themselves with brush or other natural debris themselves in the countryside in order to facilitate a successful hunt. The concept has survived into the 21st Century and has been adopted by many militaries around the world.
What terrestrial conclusions we can agree to concerning Corbell’s Jellyfish UFO if it is not alien?
Is it possibly an American untethered humanoid drone with a Ghillie suit disguise and a camera that along with other surveillance platforms oversaw the base security?
Is it a group of Islamic holiday balloons?
Is it a human with a jet pack?
Is it Bird poop on the camera lens of an aerostat or drone?
We find the most likely candidates for this phenomenon are
a.) a balloon cluster
b.) an internal or external lens blemish (artifact)
c.) jetpacking human soldier
d.) dummy human shaped surveillance drone in Ghillie Suit utilizing quadcopter propeller levitation.
