Does Texas A&M have short answer questions? ›

When Texas A&M introduced short answer questions to their application in 2020, many students felt panicked. Applications are already writing-intensive, so the thought of even more required writing was an overwhelming prospect. It is helpful to remember that these short answer questions are intended to benefit students.

The Top 10 Percent Rule is an admissions policy in Texas that guarantees automatic admission to any public university in the state, including Texas A&M, for Texas high school students who graduate in the top 10% of their class.

Student Rule 15 - No Upper Division student found responsible of academic misconduct may receive Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude honors at graduation.

Can I get into A&M if I'm not top 10? ›

If you do not qualify for top 10%, but meet the State of Texas Uniform Admission Policy, your application file, which includes all factors you noted, will be reviewed in a holistic manner*. Academic factors include all high school courses attempted and grades earned, rigor of coursework, GPA and class rank.

The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2025 and spring 2026 freshman applicants who rank within the top 6% of their high school graduating classes.

"F*" Grade Designation

It is recorded by the Office of the Registrar immediately upon a finding of academic dishonesty. The grade of "F*" is intended to denote that the student has been penalized for failing to uphold the values of academic integrity at Texas A&M University.
