While I don’t have a dog of my own, I do have a grandpuppy named Milo. Well, he’s not really a puppy anymore. He is an adorable brindle boxer who will turn 2 years old in April. I’ve never been what I would describe as a “dog person,” but Milo has changed all that. I just adore that dog! :-) So when I came across the idea of making healthy homemade doggie treats I couldn’t resist making some up for my FAVORITE doggie! Milo actually has a fairly “delicate constitution” so making a treat that is all-natural seemed like a good idea. Now I can give him treats behind his Mom and Dad’s back without feeling guilty about it. ;-) (That’s just between us! Erik and Kaitlyn don’t need to know!)
I found this recipe at Live Laugh Rowe and liked the simple, healthy ingredients…all of which I had in my pantry!
I did make one trip to the store in hopes of finding a dog bone shaped cookie cutter and lo and behold they HAD one in the cake and cookie decorating aisle of my local Walmart. I was shocked and thrilled so I immediately came home and whipped up a batch.

The cookies were very easy to make and smelled delicious while baking. My daughter even decided to give them a try…she said they smelled better than they tasted. lol.
But the TRUE test was what would Milo think of them! Our first indication that he liked them was the massive amounts of drool that started coming out of his mouth. lol.
In his defense though, we did tease him with the treat for several minutes while we took some pictures. Look how polite he’s being! :-)

Once we finally let him at it he gobbled it up and immediately started looking for more. I think he ate 3 or 4 before we cut him off, but it was quite obvious they were a HIT with this canine!
Be sure and package some up for your doggie friends and relatives too!
