Supplies

How to Make It

1. Use your cutting machine or X-ACTO knife, along with my template, to cut out all of the pieces to your 3D bird cages.

Note: If you are using the SVG files that includes the score lines, don’t forget to set them as such in Cricut Design Space and attach them to their shapes before sending them through your cutting machine. I used a lime green color to mark the score lines, so hopefully that helps! If you’re having trouble with the score lines, check out this video.

2. Take the three pieces, and fold along all the score lines. Then, attach the two wall pieces together using the long tabs on the sides.

Assemble the roof portion by affixing the small tabs to the inside of the adjacent edge, following the curve. Start with the bottom tabs, and work your way up a couple at a time. Repeat with all four sides.

Then, attach the floor of the cage using the long tabs provided—lining it up just below the door of the cage.

Finish it off with a little decorative ribbon, gems, and/or flowers!

Assembling Cage #2

3. Take the five pieces, and fold along all the score lines. Then, attach the two side pieces to the front piece. Attach the long tabs on the sides first, then attach the small tabs, following the slight curve, one or two at a time.

Attach the back piece in the same manner.

Then, attach the floor of the cage using the long tabs provided—lining it up just below the door of the cage.

Finish it off with a little decorative ribbon, gems, and/or flowers!

These bird cages are fun and easy to put together! Their simple, but functional designs allow you to dress them up however you’d like—making them perfect for centerpieces at any event: weddings, showers, brunches, you name it!

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!

Enjoy putting these 3D bird cages together. And don’t forget to share your pretty finished project with me on Instagram!
