Oats– Old-fashioned rolled oats are best for these homemade treats.
Peanut butter– Creamy peanut butter or natural peanut butter can be used. Pumpkin puree can be used instead of peanut butter to make pumpkin dog treats or mashed sweet potatoes for sweet potato dog treats.
Shredded carrots– This adds fiber and delicious sweetness. The shredded carrots can be removed if you wish.
How To Make 3 Ingredient Dog Treats
- Preheat your oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Grind the oatmeal into a fine flour-like substance in a food processor or Ninja.
- Add the peanut butter and carrots to the ground oat flour mixture and blend well. You may have to take it all out and stir it to get it to fully combine into a dough.
- Roll the dough out onto a clean, flat surface to ¼ inch thickness with a rolling pin. You may have to lightly flour it to get it to roll better.
- Cut shapes into the dough using your favorite dog bone cookie cutters, then place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
